Patriots Next scheduled game is best fit for Tom Brady due to his inaugural…

Tom Brady, the renowned figure of the New England Patriots, has now confirmed a substantial portion of his schedule for his inaugural season as an NFL broadcaster. He’s set to join Kevin Burkhardt on FOX’s top broadcast team, covering various marquee NFL games. One intriguing question remains: when will Brady commentate on a game involving either of the two teams he led to Super Bowl victories (multiple for New England)?

The upcoming Patriots versus San Francisco 49ers game in Week 4, scheduled to be broadcast on FOX, presents a fitting opportunity. Given Brady’s upbringing in California as a devoted 49ers fan, despite his illustrious career with the Patriots, it seems like a natural choice to have him on the call for this particular matchup.

Putting the top FOX team on the game could be feasible logistically, especially considering there are only four games in the 4/4:25 p.m. ET window on Sept. 29, with two games on FOX alongside the Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals. While there’s the option to move the Brady-Burkhardt team to the 1 p.m. window for a more enticing matchup, the available games in that slot for Week 4 are already set:

– Los Angeles Rams @ Chicago Bears
– Philadelphia Eagles @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
– Cincinnati Bengals @ Carolina Panthers
– New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons

However, it’s highly unlikely that Brady will get to call the Patriots-49ers game, despite its significance to him. Week 4 is designated as a “FOX NFL Singleheader,” with CBS taking the late window. This arrangement virtually rules out the No. 1 FOX team covering the Patriots-49ers game slated for a 4:05 p.m. kickoff.

Although the Patriots have six games on FOX within the first 12 weeks of the 2024 NFL season, the earliest and best opportunity for Brady to call a Patriots game would likely be in Week 5 at Gillette Stadium against the Miami Dolphins.

Notably, the Patriots only appeared in front of FOX’s No. 1 broadcast team once during the 2023 season, in a 38-3 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys.
