This season, Michal Helik, a Polish international, has been one of Huddersfield Town’s most impressive players.
After a stellar individual season, Michal Helik, a defender for Huddersfield Town, has been selected the Blue & White Members Player of the Year for the team.
With two games left in the season, the 28-year-old Polish center defender leads the team in goal scoring. He has helped his team’s cause defensively with an amazing nine goals this season.
Despite missing five games due to a knee injury earlier in the season, Helik has appeared in 39 of Town’s 44 league games this season. The center defender received recognition for his performance last term, coming in second to Matty Pearson.
Helik and his colleagues are currently preparing for a pivotal weekend in their Championship campaign, which takes place on Saturday at the John Smith’s Stadium when the Terriers take on third-place Birmingham City.
The Terriers are totally focused on the task at hand because Town is aware that if they lose to the Blues, they would be demoted.
Helik stated at a recent press conference, “We need to handle that pressure [of the relegation battle].” “The only thing we can do is put an end to worrying about pressure; instead, we must strive for it and give it our all.
However, the 28-year-old’s focus is on performing well for Town in their bid to stay in the second tier.
“I really believe I still can do it, and I’m doing everything on the training ground every day to be there at the Euros,” Helik added. “It won’t be easy, but the only thing I can do is show the good performance, and then wait for the call-ups.
“I’m focused here on doing my job, that’s only the extra thing which can come after the season. I cannot change it anyway, I need to do my job here during the season, and keep the Championship for the Town.”
