POPULAR: In one mind-numbing trade scenario, the Las Vegas Raiders named Justin Fields their “Preferred Target.”

With the Super Bowl concluded, teams are getting ready for what promises to be an exciting offseason. For example, the Las Vegas Raiders may be adding and moving around a lot to try to solve the problems that really held them down in the 2023 season, including a quarterback dilemma.

Jimmy Garoppolo is still with the Las Vegas Raiders, but it’s unclear how long he will stay with the organization. They also have Aidan O’Connell, but the Raiders don’t really have a great option behind center. The Raiders may need to go after Chicago Bears dual-threat signal-caller Justin Fields if they really want to make an impact in the quarterback room. According to Bleacher Report’s Brent Sobleski, Fields ought to be one of the Raiders’ top offseason targets.

At this point, Justin Fields need to be the go-to target rather than merely a viable alternative. The Raiders of Las Vegas are in a difficult situation. An upgrade at quarterback is sorely needed by the team. However, the 2023 campaign’s comparatively good conclusion moved the Raiders’ first-round selection to 13th.

The Raiders have Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy as their next-best option after the trio of Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels are likely to sign swiftly. However, the Raiders are ahead of the Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, and Denver Broncos in the draft order. To make a trade that results in a top prospect, the Raiders need to pull off something significant. It will take less to take a shot at Fields.

Will Justin Fields Be Sought After By The Las Vegas Raiders?

Fields is about to enter the final year of the deal he signed when the Bears selected him first overall in the NFL Draft in 2021. He will have one more season to convince the Bears that he is a reliable long-term option behind center, unless Chicago chooses to choose a quarterback in the first round of the draft with their first overall pick (via the Carolina Panthers) and gives that guy the starting job. It has long been speculated that the Bears would pursue that situation, which might provide leverage for other clubs, like as the Las Vegas Raiders, to offer Fields some assets in exchange.

Fields has a 10-28-0 QB record after 40 games in the NFL, passing for 6,674 yards and 40 touchdowns with 30 interceptions on a 60.3 percent completion percentage.
