Premier League deal: Arsenal’s championship race blow is confirmed, along with the fixture

The goal of Mikel Arteta’s title contenders was for Wolves to go to the FA Cup semifinals; however, Coventry City’s stunning victory at Molineux on Saturday has handed the Gunners one more challenge to face come next month.

A surprising setback to Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League has come from Championship Coventry City.

The Arsenal had hoped that Wolves, their bitter rivals in the Premier League, would advance to the semifinals at Wembley, giving them a crucial free weekend following the second leg of their quarterfinal matchup between Harry Kane and Bayern Munich in Europe.

However, Mark Robins’ Sky Blues had different ideas on Saturday at Molineux, winning a thrilling comeback game by scoring twice in injury time.

In other words, Mikel Arteta’s team will visit the Black Country on April 20, and the Premier League has confirmed that the match will proceed as scheduled. Staff members of the Gunners had hoped that Wolves would go to Wembley, since this would have caused the game to be rescheduled, giving them ten full days of preparation before their North London derby against fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

They still have the remaining North London derby of the season, Brighton at the Amex, and Manchester United at Old Trafford. They will be visiting a location where City has already struggled this term when they take on Wolves.

They’ll have to put in a lot of effort if they want to be the best team in Europe, especially after drawing Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the Champions League and maybe one of Real Madrid or Manchester City in the semifinals.
