Raptors news: Bruce Brown remains a Toronto player, and the former center seeks a new residence

The Raptors are holding a lot of sway.

A growing portion of the Toronto Raptors fan base is beginning to voice its desire to split company with veteran guard Bruce Brown as the team’s defeats mount. Even though Brown has played a good amount of minutes, this squad may not want to retain him around given his high price.

Since his arrival in Toronto, Brown has been the focus of trade rumors, with teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks seemingly set to make a real push for some additional weapons in their arsenal in an attempt to win some postseason glory.

If the Raptors want to move Brown, they have demanded another first-round selection, but Masai Ujiri doesn’t think anyone has made a good enough trade. According to the most recent rumors, Toronto isn’t giving up on finding a fair agreement.

Marc Stein reports that the Raptors are demanding a first-round selection in exchange for Brown in whatever deal they arrange. Brown’s recently traded limitation prevents him from being aggregated with other players in a trade, therefore securing him may require a young player on a controlled contract.

Before agreeing to trade for Kevin Durant, the Phoenix Suns reportedly asked about former Raptors players Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby, according to Zach Lowe on a recent podcast. Could Cam Johnson or Mikal Bridges have been sent to Toronto instead?
The Spanish star will be replaced once more by former Raptors big Khem Birch, who joined the club in Tampa during their break when Marc Gasol joined the Lakers. Following Gasol’s retirement announcement, Birch joined Girona in Spain. Birch hasn’t played since being dealt in the Jakob Poeltl trade to the San Antonio Spurs.

NBA news
Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks attempted to trade for point guard Marcus Smart, but the Memphis Grizzlies reportedly rejected their offers, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. Wendell Carter Jr., the center for the Orlando Magic, is no longer regarded as a trade candidate, according to Fischer’s source.
According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, the Brooklyn Nets declined to trade veteran forward Dorian Finney-Smith for two first-round selections. Although the protections on those picks were unknown and DFS is a good two-way player, Brooklyn may regret their choice.
