Max Verstappen, the quadruple world champion for Red Bull, revealed

Triple world champion Max Verstappen of Red Bull revealed on Thursday that he experienced impaired vision during the 2021 British Grand Prix due to a collision with rival Lewis Hamilton for the lead, but that the problem was now resolved.

The Dutch driver, who was vying with Mercedes driver Hamilton for the championship, was cited last week in the team’s Red Bulletin as claiming he had vision issues for multiple races.

The quote was in an article where he listed his 10 best drives so far.

The news came as a surprise and also raised some safety concerns.

In the entry for the 2021 US Grand Prix, several months after the Silverstone incident, he was quoted as saying: “Since my Silverstone crash, I’ve struggled with visibility problems, especially on undulating circuits or those with lots of advertising boards on the side of the track. In this race, I wasn’t just fighting against Lewis, but also against blurred images.

“It was like driving a speedboat at 300kph. I’ve never said this before, but it was so bad for a few laps that I seriously considered turning the car off. The only thing that helped was to concentrate on my breathing with Lewis breathing down my neck. An important win that I desperately needed in the championship fight.”

The comment was taken down from social media after it was extensively shared. Red Bull said that the English translation was subpar. Verstappen had never made such an admission before.

He informed reporters at the Hungarian Grand Prix on Thursday that it will only happen in 2021.

Following that, it vanished. Indeed, it did happen back then,” the Dutch driver remarked.

When asked if it happened just after the incident at Silverstone, where Verstappen was sent to the hospital for examination after crashing into the wall quickly during a pivotal juncture in the campaign, he said, “It didn’t happen before.”
“We are drivers in races. You handle a variety of tasks.

People are always getting minor wounds or other injuries here and there. Such events take place.

It was fortunately cured. Nobody needs to know the specifics, so I won’t go into them.

With twelve of the twenty-four races left, Verstappen leads the 2024 championship by eighty-four points, en route to his fourth consecutive victory.

Although the Dutch driver has won seven races so far in this season, he will face competition in Hungary as Mercedes looks to make it three in a row and McLaren is also a formidable team.
