Red Sox Get-Back Together? This Veteran Outfielder Is Said To Be Liked By Boston

It’s possible that J.D. Martinez won’t be the offensively sound outfielder the Red Sox bring back during this Major League Baseball offseason.

Boston “likes” Tommy Pham, as reported by Jon Heyman of the New York Post. Pham is coming off a successful 2023 season that saw him split between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Mets, the latter of which put on a thrilling World Series run.

The 35-year-old has visited Fenway Park before. Prior to the 2022 trade deadline, Pham was acquired by the Red Sox through a trade with the Cincinnati Reds. During the second part of that season, Pham appeared in 53 games with Boston, seeing action in left field and as a designated hitter. He hit.234 with six home runs and 24 RBIs.

Regarding possible pay, Pham agreed to a $6 million, one-year contract with the Mets prior to the commencement of the previous campaign. However, Pham may be able to demand a little richer contract after performing better than that, especially on the Fall Classic stage.
