Jalen Courtney-Williams, a former LSU basketball player from 2010 to 2013, is making a return to the program as part of Matt McMahon’s coaching staff. This move was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Hailing from Jackson, Mississippi, Courtney-Williams played under former Tigers’ coach Trent Johnson for three seasons before transferring to Morehead State.

In recent years, Courtney-Williams has been involved in coaching, spending the past three seasons at Creighton. During his tenure there, Creighton consistently made appearances in the NCAA tournament, including a Sweet 16 run this season with a 25-10 record.

Prior to his time at Creighton, Courtney-Williams coached for three seasons at McNeese State. His coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Mississippi State in 2015, where he later became the Bulldogs’ video coordinator before transitioning to McNeese.
