The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys have a number of weapons on the offensive side of the ball. While most analysts were skeptical about the Packers’ offense heading into the 2023 season, many of those critics were silenced by the end of the season.  In their final ten games the Packers went 7-3, including a massive playoff win over the Dallas Cowboys.

The playoff loss still stings in Dallas, however, they may get their “revenge” by targeting one of the Packers’ best players.

The Green Bay Packers need to exercise caution with one of their top players.

BVM Sports has brought attention to the possibility of Aaron Jones becoming a member of the Dallas Cowboys. With the Cowboys looking to bolster their roster following a playoff loss to the Packers, Jones could be available for acquisition if the Packers decide to release him.

The Packers’ decision regarding Aaron Jones remains uncertain. Despite agreeing to a pay cut last offseason to aid the team’s cap space, Jones delivered impressive performances in 2023, ranking eighth in yards after contact per rush attempt and earning an 81.5 rushing grade.

For the Cowboys, securing Jones in a cost-effective deal could significantly strengthen their roster, especially considering Jones’ success against them in previous matchups. If the Packers opt to release Jones, the Cowboys stand to benefit by fortifying their running game and potentially gaining an advantage in future playoff encounters with Green Bay.

In essence, the potential acquisition of Aaron Jones presents the Cowboys with a strategic opportunity to bolster their offensive capabilities and seek redemption against the Packers in future showdowns. Whether the Packers decide to move on from Jones or allow him to join the Cowboys remains to be seen.

During the NFL scouting combine, representatives from the Green Bay Packers held discussions with Aaron Jones’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, regarding a potential salary cap cut for the final year of his contract. These negotiations aim to alleviate the financial burden on the team. While specific details of the discussions remain undisclosed, further conversations are expected to determine the extent of the salary cap reduction.

In summary, the Green Bay Packers are keen on retaining Aaron Jones, demonstrating a strong desire to bring him back for the upcoming season. However, if an agreement cannot be reached within the next two weeks, the Packers may consider letting him go, albeit with hopes of retaining him by offering a competitive deal. Jones has consistently proven his value to the Packers’ offense, making his retention a top priority for the team’s front office.
