The “full expectation” is that Dolphins left lineman Terron Armstead will play until 2024, according to a report published on Wednesday morning by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

As Jackson pointed out, a few days after Miami was ousted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the wild-card round, the 32-year-old talked about his future last month.

In January, Armstead declared his love for the game and continued to pursue “chasing a ring.”

The former third-round selection recently concluded his third consecutive season in which he suffered at least four game-ending injuries. Despite playing in just 10 games in 2023 (along with the team’s lone postseason appearance), Armstead was named to his fifth Pro Bowl overall and his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection. These honors have come in the last six years.

Throughout his ten regular season games, the Belleville, Illinois native used 81% of the available offensive snaps. This is the lowest percentage he has used since the 2016 season when he was a member of the New Orleans Saints (79%). During the team’s offensive plays in the playoff loss to Kansas City, Armstead participated in all 61 of them.

After nine seasons with the Saints, where he participated in 15 and 14 games in 2019 and 2020, respectively, he signed with the Dolphins in March of 2022. Armstead was only able to participate in eight games in 2021 and thirteen in 2022.

Due to various ailments, he missed the opening two weeks of the 2023 season as well as six of the first eight games. Armstead participated in nine of the final ten games, including the postseason loss, to round up the season.
