Joey B is no stranger to injuries.

Coping with serious injury challenges is undoubtedly difficult. As someone currently recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, I can attest to that. Unfortunately, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has faced his fair share of injury battles.

Throughout his career so far, the star quarterback has encountered various injuries, including a wrist injury that prematurely ended his last season. Recently, during the Bengals’ mandatory minicamp, Burrow candidly discussed the toll his injury history has taken on him both physically and mentally.

Reflecting on his experience, Burrow noted the recurring challenge of returning from injuries. He acknowledged the fluctuating nature of recovery, with periods of feeling strong followed by moments of doubt. In the past, he admitted to pushing through discomfort, which only exacerbated his issues. However, this year, he’s committed to a different approach, prioritizing his well-being.

Despite being only 27 years old, Burrow’s extensive injury history has led him to contemplate his longevity in the sport he loves.

“When injuries accumulate, thoughts of my football mortality start creeping in,” Burrow shared after Tuesday’s mandatory minicamp. “It’s something I’ve had to confront and overcome.”

Nevertheless, Burrow is no stranger to adversity, and he’s eagerly anticipating the upcoming season as an opportunity to prove himself.

“I thrive in challenging situations,” he declared. “Our team is resilient, and the support system around me has been instrumental in navigating these challenges. I’m looking forward to the season ahead and what we can achieve together.”
