REPORT: The Washington Commanders have signed cornerback Noah Igbinoghene.

Multiple reports state that cornerback Noah Igbinoghene is signing a one-year contract to play for the Washington Commanders.

The Miami Dolphins’ 2020 first-round selection was never able to establish himself as a starter, but he might give depth to a Washington secondary that had trouble in 2023.

After working together with the Dallas Cowboys during the previous season, the Auburn product now plays for the Commanders under new coach Dan Quinn. The 24-year-old did not record any tackles or pass deflections in his five games of action.

Due to Kendall Fuller’s free agency departure to Miami, the Commanders have an opening at cornerback in the starting lineup. Washington selected Emmanuel Forbes in the first round of the 2023 draft, but he was benched in October after having a difficult rookie season.

Washington has added more than a dozen players to their roster in free agency, taking advantage of their league-leading cap space. General manager Adam Peters and the front office can now focus on April’s draft, in which the Commanders have the No. 2 overall pick, once the first wave of free agency is over.
