Birmingham City should be demoted from the Championship and placed in League One, according to Richard Keys.
The Blues need the dominoes to fall in their favor in order to survive as they lie inside the relegation zone on the last day of the regular Championship season.
The possibility that the team will play in the third division the next season and have to fight their way back up is very plausible.
According to Keys, Birmingham should be let out of the trap because of how they fired John Eustace and ruined their own campaign.
He acknowledges that he is sorry for the supporters, believing that they were promised things that were never fulfilled.
“As we prepare to watch the last day of the C’ship season, I can’t help but think B’ham deserves to go down,” Keys stated on his blog. How terribly they handled their season.
“Recall that when they sacked John Eustace, they were in sixth place.
“I feel bad for their supporters since they were promised so much and received nothing in return.
“It’s just another reminder to exercise caution when making wishes.”
Birmingham has collected 47 points from their 45 games played thus far, placing them in 22nd place in the Championship table.
On the last day, they are scheduled to entertain Norwich City, who are hoping to make the playoffs.
