Rob Couhig discusses Wycombe Wanderers’ new owner, Mikheil Lomtadze.

Former Wycombe Wanderers owner Rob Couhig has stated that he and Mikheil Lomtadze’shared similar ideals’ before the latter took over the club.

On May 4, it was revealed that Georgian millionaire Lomtadze, who lives in Kazakhstan, had purchased the Couhig family’s 90% share of the club. It brings to an end the American’s five-year ownership of Wycombe, during which time they won promotion to the Championship, three Wembley final appearances, and, most significantly, financial security.

Despite no longer owning the club, the lawyer and businessman will continue to serve as chairman of the board. He said, “I am enthused about Wycombe Wanderers’ future. “Last year, I stated that I had started looking into a potential succession plan for our ownership. “Since then, I’ve met with a substantial number of highly qualified folks. “Mikheil and I met last fall and decided to discuss his prospective involvement with the club.

Mikheil and I shared similar beliefs of communicating directly and honestly with each other, which was clear from our first meeting. “I realized that his goals for the Club were similar to mine.” “It was important to me that, despite being separated by a 12-hour time difference, we developed friendships. “The logical end to those conversations occurred today [May 4], with the transfer of Feliciana EFL Limited to his organization. “The Wycombe Wanderers Football Club Board will be joined by three new directors: Mikheil, Eduard Vyshnyakov, and Daniel Rice. “The Board has asked me to express its and the Wanderers family’s gratitude for Missy Couhig and Pete Couhig’s outstanding work for the Club and community since June 2019.”

Mikheil asked me to continue as Chairman during the ownership transfer, and I accepted. “Please join me in welcoming Mikheil, Eduard and Dan to the Club.”m
