Carlos Alcaraz’s string of bad luck on the court continues as he delays his travel to the Mutua Madrid Open due to a persistent forearm injury. The Spaniard has been grappling with discomfort in his right forearm since his practice session at the Monte Carlo Masters, and this setback has further complicated his plans for the Madrid Open. While it’s uncertain whether he’ll be able to participate in the tournament, Alcaraz is currently focused on rehabilitation at the Ferrero Tennis Academy in Villena under the guidance of his physiotherapist, Juanjo Moreno.

Despite ongoing treatment, Alcaraz has been advised to prioritize rest before his next tournament. Originally scheduled to travel to Madrid for practice, he has postponed his trip to allow for additional healing time. This decision reflects his determination to return to peak form.

Alcaraz’s recent struggles with injury have forced him to withdraw from both the Monte Carlo Masters and the Barcelona Open. These consecutive setbacks have raised concerns within his team about his performance for the season, prompting them to proceed with caution as he prepares for the Madrid Open.

Even his coach, Paul Annacone, has acknowledged the growing concern surrounding Alcaraz’s physical condition. Alcaraz himself has expressed uncertainty about his readiness for the upcoming tournament, acknowledging the challenges posed by his ongoing injury.
