Reports state that Tony Hutson, a former offensive lineman with the Dallas Cowboys, passed away.

49 was his age. The reason of death was not stated.

As to the post on Facebook by former Cowboys linebacker Randall Godfrey, Hutson passed away earlier this month.

Godfrey commented, “Last night, I lost one of my favorite teammates and great friends in Tony Hutson.” Kindly remember the Hutson family in your prayers. Our rookie class of 1996 Dallas Cowboys shared a unique kinship. He came to Valdosta on multiple occasions to assist with my yearly football camps. He made me laugh so hard that I was crying, and I loved every second of it. Not to mention one of my fishing mates. I had a feeling that we would get in touch shortly. This one really caught us off surprise. My brother, go get some rest. Too soon gone.

Hutson was a two-time NAIA All-American, but the Raiders allegedly discovered a benign tumor in his lung during the draft process, which prevented him from being selected. He became a member of the Cowboys in 1996 and stayed with them until the 1999 campaign. In fact, he started two games in his last Dallas season.

Before his career came to an end, he played for the Raiders in 2001 and spent a season in Washington.
