West Ham manager David Moyes was eager to see Lucas Paqueta substituted during the Brazil-England match, as revealed by Gary Lineker, who sat next to Moyes throughout the game. Moyes repeatedly urged for Paqueta to be taken off to give him a rest, emphasizing his concern for the player’s well-being during the international friendly at Wembley on Saturday, where Brazil secured a 1-0 victory with Endrick’s late goal.

Moyes’ apprehension about his players’ fitness during international breaks is understandable, especially considering the crucial upcoming fixtures for West Ham. Paqueta’s recent return from injury has coincided with an upturn in form for the team, making him a vital asset for Moyes.

Despite the physical nature of Paqueta’s play during the match against England, he emerged unscathed, bringing relief to Moyes. The Brazilian midfielder was eventually substituted around the 70th minute for Andreas Pereira, allowing him to rest and avoid any potential injuries ahead of West Ham’s important fixtures.
