Ash Saint, a gifted forward, has extended her contract with Alberton, keeping her there through at least the end of 2026.

Ashleigh Saint, a vital forward for Port Adelaide, has decided to stay with the team through the end of the 2026 AFLW season, demonstrating her renewed commitment to the club.

Saint increased the Power’s goal-kicking possibilities in her first season with the team in 2023, scoring 14 goals in nine games.

Along with fellow forward target Gemma Houghton, the Salisbury and North Adelaide SANFLW product has forged a powerful combo. After a season together, the duo is sure to be even more dangerous.

“So far, I’ve enjoyed my time at Port Adelaide,” Saint remarked. “Being a lifelong Port fan, playing for the team has been an incredible dream come true.

“The club’s culture and its members are truly unique; we function as one big family.”

“Within our playing and coaching group, I have some strong connections, and I know we are building something that I am excited to be a part of for the next three years or more.”

Saint, who is currently 25 years old, is among the team’s more seasoned players. She played for the Adelaide Crows Premiership team in season six of 2022, a season in which she led the AFLW in goalkickers and was awarded an All-Australian.

Saint, who was first selected by Melbourne in the draft, played for three seasons at West Lakes before moving to Alberton before the 2018 campaign.

List manager for Port Adelaide Naomi Maidment stated that Saint’s skill, professionalism, and experience had added a great deal of value to the team.

“Last season, Ash adapted to our team quite well and added a fresh threat to our forward line, joining Gemma and our other attackers,” Maidment remarked.

“She is now in her prime, and we can’t wait to watch her improve even more and maintain her position as one of the league’s top forwards.”

Saint will discuss her 50th AFLW match when she plays for the team again.

With the Demons since 2019, she has scored 58 goals.
