SFA appoints an unexpected referee for Celtic vs. Livingston

Robertson was supposed to take command of the most recent game at Dens Park, which created more controversy when it was postponed ninety minutes before kickoff. Robertson hasn’t had a match since the stormy meeting at Tynecastle.

Despite those problems, retiring SFA refereeing boss Crawford Allan has appointed Robertson to oversee Sunday’s game, which will once again be filmed by Sky Sports. Alan Muir will be handling VAR responsibilities.

Brendan Rodgers, the Celtics manager, will respond to an SFA Notice of Complaint on Thursday before that game. Should he be found guilty, he might be suspended from the team for at least two games. John Kennedy would then be in command on Sunday, while Rodgers would be in radio communication from the Directors Box.

There is always a degree of uncertainty over the composition of the Celtic team for the ensuing match following the international break.

Things are a little different this time around because of the injuries that have kept Callum McGregor, Reo Hatate, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Luis Palma out of international competition.

Rodgers will have to determine whether those players can be utilized on the plastic surface at the Tony Macaroni Arena after a week of training in Lennoxtown.
