Hawthorn secured their fifth consecutive win with a dominant 61-point victory over West Coast at Optus Stadium, but it came at a cost as captain James Sicily dislocated his shoulder. The Hawks dominated the match, winning 14.10 (94) to 4.9 (33), with a strong performance from James Worpel and Conor Nash in the midfield.

Despite the win, Hawthorn will be concerned about Sicily’s injury, which occurred in a marking contest. Forward Jack Ginnivan also limped off after a heavy bump.

West Coast struggled throughout the game, particularly in the midfield, and suffered their own injury setbacks with Matt Flynn and Jake Waterman both sustaining injuries.

Hawthorn’s victory brings them within half a win of the eighth-placed Brisbane Lions, highlighting their potential to break into the top eight. The match saw a significant disparity in inside 50s and clearances, underscoring the Hawks’ dominance.
