Jay Stansfield spoke about his relief after scoring in the victory over Preston North End on Monday afternoon.
On a season-long loan from Premier League Fulham, the 21-year-old striker scored his tenth goal of the Sky Bet Championship campaign as he continues to thrive in the second division.

The striker’s most recent goal, the game-winning shot against the Lilywhites, was his first in six games. He carried the ball 40 yards before scoring with unsettling accuracy, displaying incredible composure in front of the Tilton.

After the game, Stansfield talked with BluesTV on how it felt to snap a seven-game losing streak and silence any skeptics with his goal at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.

With 11 goals in all competitions, Stansfield spoke about how that was on his mind when he made the half-a-pitch charge to score the game-winning goal for Gary Rowett’s team in September’s rematch at Deepdale.

“I’ve received backlash lately for passing up some excellent opportunities, and I find it challenging at times to lead the line in my first season in the Championship.

“I’m simply trying to give the squad my all. I had never had a one-on-one so anxious; everything is going through your mind when a chance like that presents itself.

“I placed it top right on the keeper’s side when I was there. Thus, while you stammer and scan your surroundings,
