Texas Tech Readies for West Virginia with Minimal Injuries Reported

The Texas Tech Red Raiders approach their final regular season game on a high note following an electrifying 56-48 win over Oklahoma State. The team heads into this Saturday’s clash against West Virginia largely intact, with just one confirmed absence among their active roster.

Linebacker Bryce Ramirez remains sidelined for his fifth consecutive game due to a surgical complication linked to his 2022 injury. This ongoing setback underscores the long road of recovery Ramirez has faced, but his teammates will look to step up in his absence as they prepare for their Big 12 matchup at 11 a.m. on FS1.

A handful of players are listed as questionable for Saturday, potentially impacting key positions. Defensive linemen De’Braylon Carroll (ankle) and Quincy Ledet Jr. (knee), alongside outside linebacker Harvey Dyson III (lower leg), form a trio of starters who may sit out. On the offensive end, receivers Micah Hudson (lower leg) and Drae McCray (wrist) are also uncertain. McCray notably returned against Oklahoma State after recovering from a head injury, making his status pivotal. Additionally, defensive back Javeon Wilcox (knee) and kicker Reese Burkhardt (arm) round out the injury concerns.

Despite these challenges, the Red Raiders are within reach of a historic milestone. A victory on Saturday would secure their first eight-win regular season since 2009. The team also has an outside chance of advancing to the Big 12 Championship, though that outcome hinges on multiple results across the league. Regardless, Texas Tech remains focused on closing out the season strong and proving their resilience on the field.
