The 3 Sunderland players who may not play for the club again.

With the season ending in a few months and several Sunderland players on loan and having contracts expiring in the summer, speculation about their futures at the club may soon arise.
Given that their managers have changed, it makes sense that Sunderland has been at best inconsistent throughout the season. They still have a chance to make the playoffs at the end of the season in spite of this.

They now occupy the tenth spot in the table, seven points below the top six. However, although they strive to get better on the field, their focus off the field may soon shift to assembling a stronger team in preparation for the upcoming campaign. In light of it, the following three players might have played their final game for the Black Cats.

Bradley Dack

Bradley Dack has had a rough past few seasons due to injuries, and this one is no exception. This season, he has only made five starts, scored one goal, and is currently sidelined once more due to an injury.

Given his recent history of being sidelined, he agreed to a one-year contract. Since his contract expires in June and he is still far from being ready to rejoin the first team, he may choose to move on in the summer.

Jack Diamond

Jack Diamond is another player whose contract expires in the summer. The 24-year-old is presently on loan at Carlisle United, where he hasn’t improved the appalling performance of the League One team.

Since he has a lot of players ahead of him in Sunderland’s hierarchy and his contract expires in the summer, it’s likely that he will be let go for free.

Ellis Taylor

Despite his youth, Taylor now appears to have few possibilities within the first squad, and this is unlikely to alter anytime soon. At twenty years old, he probably wants to be playing football regularly, and because his contract expires in June, he might not be with the Championship team in the future.

But, anything can change in the interim before the season ends. Taylor has been used in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season and on the bench when necessary, so if all sides think it’s appropriate, a new contract might be offered.
