The upcoming ANZ Premiership Netball season promises intense competition, with the question looming: Can any team dethrone the dominant Mystics?
The Mystics are aiming to secure consecutive championships, a feat unprecedented in the franchise’s history. Led by star shooter Grace Nweke and bolstered by a formidable roster, the Mystics pose a significant challenge for their opponents.

The Stars, determined to improve upon two consecutive runner-up finishes, have undergone significant roster changes. Notably, the addition of Australian shooter Rahni Samason strengthens their offensive capabilities, while the return of defender Kate Burley bolsters their defensive line.
Meanwhile, the Magic, led by Silver Ferns captain Ameliaranne Ekenasio, seek to make their mark with a combination of retained players and new acquisitions. Saviour Tui’s arrival from the Steel adds depth to their attacking options, while the return of Oceane Maihi from injury strengthens their defensive presence.
The Pulse, narrowly missing out on last year’s grand final, boast a strong squad across all court positions. With goal shooter Amelia Walmsley’s impressive performance last season and the midfield duo of Whitney Souness and Maddy Gordon, the Pulse are contenders for the title under new coach Anna Andrews-Tasola.
The Tactix, aiming to bounce back from a season below expectations, look to capitalize on the potential of their shooting duo, Aliyah Dunn and Te Paea Selby-Rickit. With an improved midcourt and defensive lineup, the Tactix are poised to challenge the league’s top contenders.
Finally, the Steel, despite a challenging 2023 season, are determined to regain their winning form. With the return of shooter Jen O’Connell and the addition of experienced players like Shannon Saunders, the Steel aim to secure victories and climb the standings.
As the ANZ Premiership kicks off with exciting matchups, including the Magic versus the Mystics, fans eagerly anticipate a thrilling season of netball action.
