The Duke basketball team faces a challenging non-conference schedule, but they’ve recently scheduled another home game. Alongside matchups against Arizona, Kentucky, Kansas, and Illinois, they’re also working on a mid-major portion of the schedule, including a game against George Mason on December 7. This is the second home game they’ve arranged for next season, following reports that they’ll open against Maine on November 4. George Mason, from the Atlantic-10 Conference, is coming off a 20-12 season under first-year head coach Tony Skinn.

Keyshawn Hall, the leading scorer for George Mason, transferred to UCF this offseason, but they gained a commitment from K.D. Johnson, a former 4-star recruit from Auburn. Johnson, who averaged 7.1 points per game last season, previously played for Georgia, where he scored 13.5 points per contest as a freshman.

George Mason hasn’t reached the NCAA Tournament since head coach Jim Larranaga left for Miami in 2011, although their 2011 berth was memorable, and they’re best known for their Cinderella run to the Final Four in 2006.

Duke’s upcoming schedule includes matchups against Kentucky on November 12 and Arizona on November 21. The dates for other games, like their meeting with Kansas in Las Vegas, are still pending but are expected to be before Thanksgiving. Assuming all previously reported games remain, Duke has four more non-conference games to add to its schedule.
