According to IndyStar Colts Insider Joel A. Erickson, Danny Pinter, an offensive lineman, has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Indianapolis Colts.
Pinter, a former Ball State player selected in the fifth round, is recovering after missing the entire 2023 season due to an ankle break sustained during Indianapolis’ preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The South Bend native underwent surgery and spent the fall in Indianapolis recovering his ankle, and IndyStar reports that “a source says Pinter is doing well as he prepares for next season.”
Pinter, who has experience at both center and right guard and has started seven games overall in lieu of starting, is a crucial depth addition for the Colts along the offensive line.

The date is January 14, 2012. We are in San Francisco at Candlestick Park. The 49ers need a touchdown with 14 seconds remaining, down three, and facing a third down to maintain their hopes of making the playoffs without having to go to OT. In the meantime, the Saints can draw a conclusion from this and move on to the NFC Championship Game. Wesley French replaced Kelly for three games in the 2023 season after Pinter was sidelined the previous season. Most likely, he
and Pinter will compete at training camp for the team’s backup center spot.
It makes sense for Indianapolis to bring Pinter back. Fortunately for the Colts, most of their interior offensive line survived the previous season. Should Kelly or starting right guard Will Fries be sidelined, for instance, Pinter’s dual-position expertise provides Indianapolis with an extra resource in case it becomes necessary.
