The Washington Nationals have inked a deal with former NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario. The outfielder, renowned for his standout performance with the Atlanta Braves in the 2021 NLCS, has agreed to a one-year contract with the Nats.

According to Daniel Álvarez-Montes of El Extrabase, the agreement entails a split contract with potential earnings of up to $4 million, subject to performance-based incentives.

Rosario’s journey in the majors began in May 2015 with the Minnesota Twins, where he made an immediate impact by becoming the sixth Twin in history to hit a home run in his debut at-bat. Notably, he led the league in triples during the 2015 season, registering 15 triples, a feat not achieved by a Twin since 2000.

During his tenure with the Twins until 2020, Rosario compiled a solid batting average of .266 and amassed 119 home runs. However, his defensive performance, particularly as a left fielder, posed challenges, with him leading the AL in errors multiple times.

Following his departure from the Twins after the 2020 season, Rosario signed a one-year contract with the Cleveland Indians, later traded to the Atlanta Braves in 2021.

Rosario’s impactful contributions to the Braves, including his standout performances in the NLCS and subsequent World Series victory, solidified his status as a key player. Despite an injury sidelining him for a significant portion of the 2022 season, Rosario bounced back in 2023 with a notable .255 batting average and 21 home runs for the Braves.
