On Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Arena, the New York Knicks defeated the Toronto Raptors. To keep their spot in the Eastern Conference table, the squad defeated the Raptors.

But there are other interesting narratives for Knicks supporters to follow during this game besides the team’s resounding triumph. As the Knicks get ready for the postseason, some may even argue that the return of one of their most significant players was a larger win.

Although he didn’t play a lot of minutes in his return game, Knicks supporters should be happy that he is gradually making his way back into the starting lineup.

In a short game, Mitchell Robinson helped the New York Knicks defeat the Toronto Raptors.
Mitchell Robinson’s 50-game absence due to an ankle injury meant that his return to the Knicks had to be handled carefully. In an attempt to regain game fitness, he merely participated in 12.5 minutes of play.

He was able to remove some of the rust, so his time on the floor was rather fruitful. To finish with eight points, he made all of his shot attempts and half of his free throws. Along with his two rebounds and two rejections, he also left his mark on the low end.

According to All Knicks’ Geoff Magliocchetti, the players were ecstatic to have him back and expressed it directly:

“This year, Isaiah Hartenstein has performed admirably. Sims’ Jericho intervened. And Precious (Achiuwa) intervened. However, it’s vital for us to have Mitch back there as a defensive pillar, said another excellent substitution, Miles McBride, according to Fred Katz of The Athletic. “It’s great to have someone guard the rim, especially as a defensive-minded guard. His offensive rebounding speaks for itself, and his ability to chase down the ball is impressive.”

Donte DiVincenzo continued, “It was great just to have him out there, just to have him happy,” according to an ESPN article. In addition to his defensive contributions, “just his spirit is really contagious for us.”

Despite never having played a full NBA season, Robinson has made a name for himself as a trustworthy interior player. He has averaged 9.9 assists, 1.5 steals, 1.3 blocks, and 6.3 points per game this season.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the New York Knicks make a deep postseason run if he keeps putting up those types of stats.
