Notre Dame Fighting Irish announced the heartbreaking news of the passing of Kevin Hardy, a legendary three-sport athlete, in Northern California on Monday. Fans, alongside the university, expressed their condolences on social media, honoring one of the school’s finest athletes in history.
According to a university press release, Kevin Hardy, born in 1945, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, in Northern California. At 78 years old, Hardy, a Notre Dame athlete from 1964 to 1967, left a lasting legacy despite not being able to play football during his freshman year, as freshmen weren’t permitted to play until 1972.
