The Toronto Raptors have opted to extend Jahmi’us Ramsey’s tenure with the team by signing him to a second 10-day contract, the organization announced on Thursday. Ramsey, who is 22 years old, has seen action in two games for Toronto, logging a total of 25 minutes on the court and scoring six points while shooting 2-for-10 from the field. As the Raptors grapple with injuries and look toward the future, particularly with an eye on the NBA Draft, they are inclined to give Ramsey a more extended evaluation period.

Under this new agreement, Ramsey will remain with the Raptors for the next five games. However, the team will need to make a decision on his long-term status following the expiration of his second 10-day contract. Ramsey also had the opportunity to showcase his skills in the G League with the Raptors 905, where he scored 39 points across two games in 68 minutes of play. Additionally, Ramsey had a noteworthy stint with the Oklahoma City Blues earlier in the season, averaging 20.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while shooting an impressive 53.1% from the field.

Ramsey’s signing adds to the Raptors’ recent moves, which include the acquisition of DJ Carton, Mouhamadou Gueye, and Justise Winslow on 10-day contracts. Both Carton and Gueye have since been elevated to two-way contracts with the team. Ramsey’s retention fills Toronto’s final roster spot, providing the organization with additional depth and potential for the remainder of the season.
