According to a source, AC Milan is getting closer to having Paulo Fonseca take over as head coach, and he is expected to request a few additions.

Sky is reportedly reporting that Fonseca has been selected to take over as Milan’s new coach. The Portuguese is keen on going back to Italy, but he has a meeting with Marseille today because they wanted him before the Rossoneri.
He intends to either wait a little while before signing with Milan or even turn down both Marseille’s and Lille’s offers to extend his contract right away, even though they had to play through qualifiers instead of earning direct Champions League qualification in the final moments of the season.

The former Roma manager is persuaded by Milan’s long-term plan (a three-year deal) because it provides the assurances of a competitive club together with the chance to rejoin Serie A.
According to the source, he could target a striker and a right-back in his signings. After a scorching start to 2024, Jonathan David is still strongly associated, but Tiago Santos of Lille is someone the directors like and he might take over the previous job, as we exclusively disclosed.
