Jaylin Brown, the running back from Cardinal Newman High, has pledged his commitment to Louisville. He made this decision shortly after his official visit with the Cardinals, announcing it live on Instagram. Brown, standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 185 pounds, wasted no time in expressing his interest in Louisville once he received a scholarship offer.

His official visit occurred within three weeks of receiving the offer from UofL assistant Chris Barclay. Now, just days after his visit, Brown becomes the ninth addition to Louisville’s 2025 recruiting class. He joins linebacker Caleb Matelau and wide receiver Lebron Hill as the third commitment from the group of official visitors.

As a junior, Brown earned All-County recognition by rushing for over 900 yards and 15 touchdowns at Cardinal Newman. Throughout three seasons, he has accumulated over 1,700 rushing yards. With a 4.49 time in the 40-yard dash and a recent qualification for the Florida state championships with a 10.88 in the 100-meter dash, Brown possesses impressive speed, making him a constant threat on the field.

Apart from Louisville, Brown has received offers from Appalachian State, Boston College, Charlotte, Connecticut, Georgia Tech, James Madison, Kentucky, Liberty, Minnesota, NC State, Tulane, Western Michigan, and others.

Ranked as the No. 92 running back nationally by 247Sports, Brown also holds the No. 82 spot according to the Composite rankings. He boasts an 86 grade from 247Sports.
