J.J. Watt, former NFL star and stakeholder in Burnley, has shared details about his conversations with Tom Brady regarding Brady’s investment in Birmingham City. Despite fresh investment from Knighthead, Birmingham City is currently fighting to retain their Championship status, facing their 22nd league defeat of the season and sitting 23rd in the table, just a point from safety with four games remaining. Knighthead chief Tom Wagner has outlined plans for a Sports Quarter in Bordesley Green, including a new stadium, training ground, and academy facility, with a potential completion timeframe of five years. However, the immediate challenge remains the relegation battle.

Wagner also hinted at the possibility of Birmingham City’s new stadium hosting NFL games in the future, among other major sporting events. Tom Brady’s involvement as an investor in the club adds to the intrigue, with both Brady and Watt finding themselves in similar situations of navigating challenges in different leagues. Watt revealed on the Stick to Football Podcast that he and Brady had discussed Birmingham City’s situation, noting that Brady is involved in the training and physical aspects of the club due to his business interests in that area. Both Brady and Watt share a love for football, despite their different roles in the sport.
