The funeral plans for Sunderland AFC superfan Tom Lynn, who passed away unexpectedly last week at the age of 66, have been made public.

On April 15, 2024, at 11.45 a.m., there will be a service at St. Chad’s Church in East Herrington.

The tributes to Tom are still coming in. He was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, and friend in addition to writing columns for the Sunderland Echo and Football Echo.

One homage was built in sand at the foot of the Cat and Dog Steps in Roker, when an artist created a sand work which said “Ha’way the lads, rest in peace Tommy Lynn” beneath a reproduction of the club’s former crest.

After Sunderland’s match against Blackburn Rovers reached the 66th minute on Easter Monday, supporters at the Stadium of Light gave the team a minute’s ovation.
