After winning their first four league games, the Aggies (12-5, 4-0 SEC) aim to maintain their perfect conference record going into another weekend of SEC play. At the ITA National Team Indoors this season, Texas A&M faced Georgia (9-3, 4-0 SEC), and the Bulldogs narrowly prevailed 4-2. The clubs played each other in two close games last season. Texas A&M won 5-2 during the regular season to secure the conference title, while Georgia prevailed 4-2 in the SEC Tournament final.

Over the past few years, head coach Mark Weaver stated, “We’ve had some all-time classic matches with Georgia.” “We’re playing some of the best tennis we’ve played all year, and we’ll be prepared to play on Friday.”

No. 22 Tennessee has lost their last four games against the Maroon & White, who have won the last four. The Aggies defeated the Volunteers twice in the previous season: once at home in the regular season, 6-1, and again in the NCAA Super Regional round, 4-1.

Weaver continued, “Tennessee is having another solid season.” “Because Tennessee is another difficult place to play, we will need to play at a high level throughout the entire weekend.”

The Aggies just won their second straight weekend in the SEC, first defeating Ole Miss 6-1 two days later after blanking Mississippi State 4-0 to start the week. This extended their current winning streak to seven games.

Mary Stoiana, the top player in the nation, continues to lead A&M. The junior is currently riding an eight-match winning streak in singles play. She has also won three straight matches with partner Mia Kupres, and together they remain the sixth-ranked pairing in the country. Nicole Khirin, a No. 17 for the Maroon & White, has the team’s longest current winning streak, standing at ten games.
