Toronto Maple Leafs Latest Schedule and Prospects for March 2024

Published

on

On March 2, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Rangers will play an original-six game to start the month of March.

This regular season’s third and final encounter between these two teams will take place. The Rangers prevailed 5-2 in the second match, while the Toronto Maple Leafs prevailed 7-3 in the first.

The Leafs should prevail in the tiebreaker.

On March 4, the Leafs will play their second game of the homestand against the Boston Bruins, another team from the original six. The Leafs might rise significantly in the Atlantic Division standings with a victory over the Bruins.

March Outlook for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Next up are two back-to-back games against the Buffalo Sabres at home on March 6 and the Boston Bruins on the road on March 7.

The NHL trade deadline is March 8.

Teams can make transactions until 3:00 PM Eastern Time. It will be intriguing to observe the efforts made by Leafs general manager Brad Treliving to elevate the team.

Following the deadline, the Leafs will have four days off before traveling to Montreal to play the Canadiens on March 9. Any new Leafs players may find it useful to use their days off to practice with their new club.

The Leafs will travel to play the Philadelphia Flyers on March 14th after their brief vacation. On March 16, the Leafs will meet the Carolina Hurricanes at home while donning their yearly St. Pats clothes.

The Leafs’ last game wearing the St. Pats uniforms was a 5-2 victory over the Hurricanes on March 17 of the previous season. Hopefully, the past will not repeat itself.

After that, the Leafs have two sets of back-to-back games. The Flyers and Washington Caps will play their first sets on March 19 and 20, respectively. The Leafs’ next games are at home against the Edmonton Oilers on March 23 and away at the Hurricanes in Carolina on March 24.

After that, on March 26 and 28, respectively, the Leafs will face the New Jersey Devils and the Capitals at home. March 30th is the road game versus the Sabres in Buffalo to cap out the month of March.

The NHL season is coming to an end, and as clubs compete for a postseason spot, the Leafs will need March to go well. March offers the Leafs 14 games, well balanced between seven home games and seven away games. I believe that in order for the Leafs to have a good month, they will need to win at least ten games. I’m going to go with 10-3-1 for 21 points.
