Tough Jack Butland Rangers reality check as open ears are guaranteed by John Bennett’s pledge

While Rangers prepared for their second leg Europa League Round of 16 matchup with Benfica, a narrative centered on England prospect Jack Butland was emerging.

With his form returning at Rangers, the 31-year-old goalkeeper was back in the conversation for the Three Lions in anticipation of a historic comeback to the England squad before Euro 2024.

In Portugal, Jack Butland had also shown great bravery, leading Rangers to a hard-fought 2-2 first-leg draw and raising the prospect of a historic trip to the Final in Dublin.

Unfortunately, Butland missed the England call and the bus to Dublin broke down before it had left Glasgow, making it a sad day for the Rangers goalkeeper.

It was an outlook.

changing day for Rangers and the goalie, as rumors of Premier League transfer interest continue into the summer.

John Bennett’s pledge to join the Rangers
Rangers chairman John Bennett delivered an open and sincere response following the release of the team’s financial records.

Rangers’ minor operating profit covered for problems with some of the club’s overheads, but if the team is to continuously improve as a football team, player trading needs to be rectified.

The club’s supporters would want to see the so-called player trade model implemented more successfully at this stage since they are essentially sick of hearing about it.

Rangers need to be more active in the transfer market as part of that, and the Ibrox side has to investigate whether there is a real interest in Jack Butland.

Rangers must balance earning potential against contribution and reinvestment, much like clubs in Saudi Arabia are after James Tavernier. One of the team’s primary assets is Jack Butland.

The past week has demonstrated that the goalkeeper may not be able to receive an England call-up while he is still playing for Rangers.

How much is Jack Butland worth to the Rangers?
So, the question is: How much money can the Rangers reasonably hope to get back for Jack Butland?

Considering his age and the fact that

Rangers are in a strong position with the keeper, who is under contract for four years with the team.

However, that influence can only last so long given that Premier League teams have substantial financial resources and a wide range of alternative possibilities available.

We believe Rangers will have to take a serious look at a bid that is closer to £15 million at the upper end if it is received for more than £10 million.

It might be wise business, especially with Robby McCrorie waiting in the wings to take over as the Rangers’ starting quarterback.

Moreover, it will demonstrate that John Bennett and company are sincere about pursuing a larger

influence on the market for transfers.
