A suggestion from NBA writer Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report is for the Philadelphia 76ers to potentially acquire Mikal Bridges and Dorian Finney-Smith from the Brooklyn Nets this upcoming summer.

The proposed trade outlines the Philadelphia 76ers receiving forwards Mikal Bridges and Dorian Finney-Smith from the Brooklyn Nets. In return, the Nets would acquire various draft picks, including a 2024 first-round pick (No. 16 overall), a 2026 first-round pick (the least favorable of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, or Los Angeles Clippers), a 2030 first-round pick, and second-round picks in 2027 and 2028.

The Sixers, who were eliminated by the New York Knicks in the 2024 playoffs’ first round, are suggested to strengthen their lineup by acquiring Bridges and Finney-Smith. Bridges, originally drafted by the Sixers in 2018 but traded to the Phoenix Suns, has had a productive season with the Nets, averaging 19.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, showcasing solid shooting percentages. Finney-Smith, on the other hand, adds defensive versatility and floor spacing, averaging 8.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

The addition of Bridges would bolster the Sixers’ starting lineup alongside Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, addressing a need for scoring and defensive prowess. Meanwhile, acquiring Finney-Smith would further solidify their frontcourt, providing defensive stability and additional shooting options.

Bridges, 27, boasts career averages of 14.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, while Finney-Smith, 31, holds career averages of 8.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. Both players offer valuable experience and skills that could benefit the Sixers’ playoff aspirations.

The pressure is on the Sixers organization to maximize their roster around Embiid and Maxey, aiming to surpass their previous playoff performances and contend for a championship.
