A day after Oklahoma was included in Nate Roberts’ list of the top five universities, the Sooners were in the running for another OKPreps highlight for 2025.

Midwest City native and cornerback Trystan Haynes revealed his Top 6 on Tuesday. The four-star defensive back’s list of schools included Miami, Alabama, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Georgia, and Oklahoma.

At six feet two inches, Haynes is a wide receiver and cornerback for the Titans. He has helped Carl Albert win six state titles in a row and had an undefeated season.

Haynes is the best-rated player among the group despite playing alongside 2025 Sooners commits Marcus James, Kevin Sperry, and Trynae Washington. Haynes is ranked No. 12 at the corner and No. 119 overall in the next cycle, according to 247Sports.

The local standout would be the first defensive back and fourth defensive player to commit to Oklahoma in Jay Valai and company’s 2025 recruiting class. As of right now, Brent Venables and company rank sixth in the nation and have ten pledges for the next cycle.

The Sooners have an opportunity to get a reliable defensive back who would aid the club in moving into the next phase of the season thanks to Haynes’ size and quickness at the cornerback position.
