In one NBA game, three Duke basketball products combined for 72 points.

With just 11 seconds remaining in Friday night’s 114-113 home loss against the San Antonio Spurs, guard Tre Jones tried a driving layup but missed, setting up fellow 2018–19 Duke basketball star Zion Williamson for an explosive fastbreak basket off the glass that ultimately proved to be the game-winning score for his struggling New Orleans Pelicans (28–21).

Watch this incredible move from Williamson as he ducked under two Spurs defenders in front of him and avoided another, 7-foot-4 San Antonio shot-blocking virtuoso Victor Wembanyama, who failed to convert on his follow-up swat attempt:

Zion Williamson scored a game-high 33 points, going 12-for-21 from the field and 9-for-13 from the free throw line, including the game-winning basket. Despite averaging 22.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in his 39 games this season, the two-time All-Star failed to receive his third All-Star selection. He also added eight boards, four assists, one steal, and one block.

Brandon Ingram, a former one-and-done player for Duke basketball, is now a forward with the Pelicans. He finished with 19 points, four rebounds, six assists, two steals, and one block. In his seventh season as a professional, he is now averaging 21.4 points, 5.0 boards, and 5.4 dimes in 45 games since the Los Angeles Lakers selected him with the second overall pick in the draft.

For the underperforming Spurs (10-39), Jones, who is now averaging 9.7 points and 5.8 assists, recorded 20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and one block. Jones is a 2020 second-round lottery pick for San Antonio.

In the game, all three NBA Blue Devils started, played more than 35 minutes, and made at least 46 percent of their field goals. They finished with a combined total of 72 points, 19 rebounds, 17 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks.
