TRENDING: Estimated Win Total for Ohio State in 2024: Can Buckeyes Make a Significant Advance?

According to the oddsmakers, the Ohio State Buckeyes will have a fun season in 2024.

The Buckeyes are favored to win 10.5 games this next season, according to FanDuel’s most recent estimates for each team’s victory total. With the sportsbook’s projection, there was no explanation of which games Ohio State will win or lose.

Shared a 10.5 line with the Scarlet and Gray are the Georgia Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, and Texas Longhorns. The highest winning forecast in college football is shared by those four universities.

Ohio State lost their final two games of the previous season—on November 25 against the Michigan Wolverines and on December 29 in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl against the Missouri Tigers.

The Buckeyes’ ten-win season came to an end with those two losses, marking the second time in a row that the final two games of the season ended in losses. The fact that Ohio State has lost to the Michigan Wolverines in each of the last three seasons is even more concerning for the team’s supporters.

The Buckeyes have added a number of excellent players to their squad after their most recent defeat against the Wolverines in November. Will Howard, a quarterback for the Kansas State Wildcats, defensive back Caleb Downs for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and running back Quinshon Judkins for the Ole Miss Rebels are just a few of the players that Ohio State has gained key positions via the transfer portal.

The nation’s top recruits, including defensive end Eddrick Houston, cornerback Aaron Scott Jr., and five-star receiver Jeremiah Smith, have also committed to the Buckeyes. Along with Julian Sayin, a former Crimson Tide commit, Prentiss “Air” Noland, an incoming freshman and a five-star prospect, will challenge Howard for the starting quarterback position in the upcoming campaign.

Not just players have been added; Chip Kelly, the offensive coordinator at Ohio State and former head coach of the UCLA Bruins, has also joined the team.

Where is Michigan’s win total on FanDuel’s list? With a 9.5 win line, the Wolverines are tied for the second-best line.

It is evident from this that Ohio State has a chance to reverse its current losing streak versus Michigan this season.
