It goes without saying that parlays account for a significant portion of sportsbooks’ earnings. However, Dez Bryant, the former wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, ended up winning the full bag in his enormous 13-leg wager.

Bryant won a huge NCAA basketball parlay this past weekend against all odds, or more precisely against +54215 odds.

The three-time Pro Bowl player wagered $767.68 on a 13-leg parlay that yielded $416,970.35 in earnings. A bet on Nevada to defeat UNLV on Saturday night, with a +105 moneyline, was one of the legs, and it was placed right up to the final second.

Bryant was probably the happiest person in the room when the Wolf Pack defeated their intrastate rivals, 69–66, after an incredible second-half comeback.

Shortly after receiving his lucky break, Bryant lost $1,000 on another multi-leg parlay, this time on the outcome of U.S. tennis star Taylor Fritz defeating Tommy Paul in Monday’s Delray Beach Open final. By coincidence, Bryant also prevailed in that parlay, winning almost $25,000.

In response to a remark regarding Paul’s recent dominance, Bryant replied, “Honestly, I have no clue. I just put [Fritz] down because it looked good.” regarding his tennis selection.

There have probably been more bizarre motivations for placing sports bets.
