TRENDING: Jimmy Garoppolo Suspended Two Games After “Just Messing Up” on TUE.

The Los Angeles Rams expanded their quarterback room by adding Jimmy Garoppolo, a seasoned player, to serve as Matthew Stafford’s backup. Given that Garoppolo is a reliable player who can take over and lead an offensive unit, the trade made sense.

However, Garoppolo will be serving a two-game suspension for breaking the NFL’s rules regarding performance-enhancing drugs, so the Rams won’t have him available for the first two games of the season. Garoppolo declined to challenge the ban, and in general, the quarterback has accepted the situation as it is.

Speaking about the ban lately, Garoppolo stated that he will accept it all, focus on the Rams’ offseason training, and be prepared to play as soon as he is cleared to return to the field.

“I guess just take it in stride. It’s a strange scenario because I’ve never really been in it before, but it is what it is,” Garoppolo remarked. “I believe that we should focus on attacking OTAs, training camp, and the first two games.” With any luck, we’ll start 2-0 and continue with several dubs. However, it’s just one of those circumstances. That’s just the way things are. You just need to go on and maintain your optimistic attitude while dealing with it.

The Rams quarterback was very explicit in stating that his infraction was due to an error on his part in handling the Therapeutic Use Exemption paperwork, rather than him taking anything illegal.

“Really, just screwed up the Therapeutic Use Exemptions, or TUEs,” Garoopolo continued. “It’s unfortunate that I made a mistake with the TUE when I first arrived in Las Vegas, but it was just unfortunate timing.”

Although it was an honest error, Garoppolo will regrettably miss the first two games of the season as a result. But like he stated, he will just jump right into training camp and organized practice so that after those two games are over, he can give the Rams anything they want of him.

Steve Avila will be moved to center by the Rams after Jonah Jackson is signed.
The Rams acquired former Detroit Lions guard Jonah Jackson to a three-year contract, suggesting that the interior offensive line will change regardless of the quarterback. Steve Avila, a second-year lineman, is now anticipated to move to center as the team also re-signed guard Kevin Dotson.

Avila is not new to the position having spent two years as a center at TCU, and the Rams’ offensive line should benefit overall from the switch.
