Despite losing halfback Lewis Dodd to the South Sydney Rabbitohs of the NRL, head coach Paul Wellens of ST HELENS is already looking for a replacement.

In the Super League and Challenge Cup during the previous five seasons, Dodd—who just inked a long-term contract with the Redfern club in Australia—joined the Saints Academy in 2017 and has already amassed 26 tries, 13 goals, and one field goal.

Now that Dodd needs a long-term replacement, Wellens has identified four options that the Merseyside club may pursue.

“Going out and signing another seven as a direct replacement is one of the options,” Wellens stated.

Additionally, Moses has participated in the seven shirt. As you mentioned, we are able to sign a one or a six and shift Johnny Lomax into a seven.

We also need to acknowledge that our junior system contains a few inexperienced half-backs.

“One, recently back from a major injury, is Will Roberts. We don’t want to stand in the path of this young athlete, who is extremely talented.

In addition, George Whitby, a 19-year-old, will soon join us full-time.
