For today, the CCFPA sends Sean Flynn, an Association member since 2009, “Many Happy Returns.” Sean, a Brummy who was born on March 13, 1968, is commemorating his 56th birthday today!

In December 1991, Sean, a strong and determined midfielder with a small build, joined CCFC from Halesowen Town. In a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United on Boxing Day 1991, he made his debut and scored the second goal in the 57th minute! Sean participated in 105 competitive games for the Sky Blues in all, tallying ten goals.

After departing for Derby County in time for the 1995–1996 season, he played in the Football League for a variety of non-league teams until 2003, when he ended his career, having played for Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Tranmere Rovers, and Kidderminster Harriers. Sean has scored 34 goals in 436 Football League games prior to that.

Evesham United and Redditch Town were among them. Eventually, he made his home in Cornwall, playing for Bodmin, Mullion (who he subsequently coached), Penzance, and, in 2012, far into his forties, Falmouth Town!

Even though he lives very far from the Midlands, we are excited to see him when he returns to Coventry for a Sky Blue home game or CCFPA function now that things are returning to normal.

Sean, I hope you have a great day!
