TRENDING NEWS: Kirk Cousins’ race to play for the Vikings against the Falcons is confirmed by Russini.

Since the 2018 season, Kirk Cousins has been the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, and it has been an interesting ride. Nevertheless, throughout those six seasons in purple, he undoubtedly distinguished himself in a class with very few other quarterbacks in team history.

However, that could all soon come to an end. March 13 is Cousins’ free agency day, and the Vikings management administration has stated clearly that this is not a Lowe’s. Their offer will not be guaranteed to meet prices. It seems like they have an upper limit on the amount of money they are ready to spend on Kirk, and they haven’t shown any signs of backing down.

The Atlanta Falcons have been able to enter the picture at this point. I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but Kirk’s wife, Julie Cousins, is from the area, and they both have family that live close to Atlanta’s downtown. However, it appears that they currently value Kirk more than the Vikings.

Kirk Cousins is still wanted by the Atlanta Falcons.
According to a local Atlanta sports reporter, Arthur Blank, the owner of the Falcons, has almost ordered the front management to do whatever it takes to sign Cousins. The Vikings are still dragging their heels in the interim. They talk a lot of great talk but do not do much.

It’s still unclear how far Minnesota is prepared to go to retain the quarterback, whom head coach Kevin O’Connell obviously wants back in the middle of his attack.

I’ll be watching the Falcons throughout the course of the next month. They think Cousins can transform them from a non-playoff squad into a serious contender. Both offensive coordinator Zac Robinson and new Atlanta head coach Raheem Morris are acquainted with Cousins. I anticipate the Falcons will fight for the rights to Cousins’ contract because they know he could adjust to this new role with ease and because of the young, promising players on their roster. I mean, it makes perfect sense.

Every arrow and every person’s attention is pointed at Kirk Cousins. Arthur Blank has essentially told his front desk staff to “do what you gotta do.” Pay the required amount. Complete this.

In the Race for Cousins, the Falcons and Minnesota Vikings are in the lead.

As always, general manager Kwesi Adofo Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell want everyone to know how much they love Kirk and can’t wait for him to come back. But, as has been the case throughout the offseason, their proposals don’t appear to match their statements, and according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Falcons are putting in substantial offers.

But don’t give the Blank family the keys to Kirk’s heart just yet. Russini isn’t prepared to declare the Falcons’ team’s opponent in this Cousins bidding war, even if it seems like Atlanta would be a formidable opponent. Nor are they prepared to declare triumph just yet. For this reason, they even have a backup plan for Baker Mayfield.

Atlanta’s consolation prize? Mayfield, what say you? If the Falcons lose out on Cousins or if Tampa Bay is unable to reach an agreement with Mayfield, I anticipate them making an attempt to sign him.

With ten days left before the deadline of March 12, we still don’t know where Kirk Cousins’ offseason saga ends, but it appears that the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons will compete in a two-team competition.
