Jen Calvert, the Head of Primary Education at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, has been named Community Captain as part of a Premier League campaign. The Community Captain initiative recognizes individuals involved in Premier League-funded programs for their dedication to football and society, falling under the ‘More than a game’ initiative.

Jen has been an integral part of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust for 15 years, contributing significantly to the charity’s mission and now serving as a key member of the senior leadership team. Her hard work and commitment have positively impacted numerous lives in the local community, earning her recognition as a friendly and familiar face across the borough.

Upon receiving the award, Jen expressed gratitude for the honor and reflected on her journey from starting as a dance teacher in local primary schools to becoming the Head of Primary Education, where she now mentors and leads staff members. Her passion for teaching and developing children, as well as her dedication to fostering a positive community impact, are evident in her work.

Jen was presented with a bespoke print, captain’s armband, and pennant as tokens of appreciation for her unwavering dedication and efforts. Amy Dunwell, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust’s Head of Community Engagement, praised Jen for her infectious passion and the lasting legacy she leaves through her teaching and leadership within the Premier League Primary Stars program.
