Due to their numerous problems, the San Antonio Spurs won’t be a title contender for at least a few more years.

However, there’s no doubting that when Victor Wembanyama was selected first overall in the draft last summer, many believed he would be a generational talent.

“I can get so much better,” Wembanyama said in an interview with The Athletic, sending a message to the rest of the NBA.

Only David Robinson and Tim Duncan, two other Spurs rookies, have ever recorded 100+ assists and 100+ blocks in their first season, according to The Athletic.

Wembanyama has delighted Spurs supporters with a robust average of 19.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.2 blocks per game during the entire season.

Though he hasn’t been able to lead them to many victories, he has undoubtedly been the most important player on his side.

Even if the French rookie has already proven to be fantastic and entertaining, the majority of people think he still has a lot of potential to grow.

Even though he is only 20 years old, he already has several years of playing experience in the league and has improved his offensive abilities.

For the rest of the league, the prospect of Wembanyama becoming even more formidable is undoubtedly unsettling.

He poses a serious threat on defense already, and if he keeps improving, he will be unbeatable.

It’s clear that Wembanyama is a highly reflective young guy who understands that he may expect more of himself.

Almost everybody concurs with such statement.

People are now curious about what San Antonio’s executive staff will do to strengthen the club with their dynamic rookie player at the center.

Although Wembanyama claims he can develop, can the other players on the team also make progress?
