Booking documents acquired on Tuesday reveal that Bryn Forbes, who played for the San Antonio Spurs for a portion of five seasons, was arrested for domestic abuse for the second time in less than a year.

Forbes, 30, is charged with strangling a female at an apartment on Monday in the 5400 block of N. Loop 1604 West.

In a misdemeanor domestic violence case from February of last year, Forbes was accused of hitting a different lady. This led to the arrest. According to court documents, Forbes received pretrial diversion in that case in late December.

Forbes was outside her apartment, beating on her window, so the woman, who phoned San Antonio police on Monday, said she allowed him inside. According to an arrest warrant, Forbes hit the victim in the head right away.

According to the warrant, Forbes then put his forearms around the woman’s throat, making it difficult for her to breathe.

Forbes said, “If you can speak, you are not being choked,” in response to the lady telling him she was having trouble breathing, according to the warrant.

Booking records indicate Forbes was brought into custody on Tuesday at approximately 11:35 a.m.

They can obtain a case dismissal and eventually seek an expungction of their records through the county’s pretrial diversion program, which is typically only available to defendants with either no prior criminal history or a minimal criminal history, and typically excludes defendants charged with using a deadly weapon.

The act of expunging data related to an individual’s arrest and criminal charges from law enforcement documentation is known as expungement. But as of Tuesday afternoon, the case history from Forbes’ 2023 arrest for family violence was still available to the public.

Throughout his seven-year NBA career, Forbes averaged 8.8 points per game and 41% from 3-point range while playing for the Spurs, Bucks, Nuggets, and Timberwolves.

This season, he has not participated in any NBA games.

Through text message on Tuesday afternoon, his defense lawyer informed KSAT that at this moment, he had nothing to say on behalf of his client.
