TRENDING: Thursday’s 2024 NCAA Tournament Was Simply Incredible

Perhaps not so much, though, for Kentucky supporters

Thursday was just another wild first full day of the NCAA tournament, as they almost usually are. Dayton defeated Nevada with an incredible comeback, Samford came close to pulling off an even larger one but lost to Kansas, NC State and UNC emerged victorious from the ACC, and Kentucky fell to Oakland in the first round once more.

Fans of Kentucky are not amused. Check out what people are saying about X if you use it. It isn’t attractive.

When BBN learned that Oakland standout Jack Godlike—okay, autocorrected, but still a pretty good one—transferred from D-II Hillsdale, they were probably even less delighted.

It’s Gohlke, but when UK supporters learned he was only 25, they were probably not pleased either.

Witness the wrath of enraged Kentucky supporters. They targeted a referee a few years back and attempted to destroy his roofing company with negative ratings.

John Calipari views this as essentially disastrous. He has never taken criticism well and has always been thin-skinned. He’s getting a lot now, though. The Mildcats’ run to the Elite Eight in 2018–19 is the only noteworthy accomplishment to date. They’ve actually only succeeded in advancing past the first round once.

We often say that everyone gets off easy when it comes to Covid, therefore the 9-16 record in 2021–2022 is quite understandable.

However, the supporters are furious, and things will only get worse.

Speaking of irate supporters, Samford supporters have a real, serious feud because AJ Staton-McCray spectacularly and cleanly blocked Nicolas Timberlake of Kansas from attempting a dunk. After an amazing comeback, Samford was down only one with only seconds left.

It makes sense that they will discuss this for years to come. It was an awful phone call.

After the marathon in D.C. last weekend, we kind of figured NC State would be worn out, but not at all.

The Pack played with a ton of energy and ultimately pulled away from Texas Tech, winning 80-67. DJ Burns continues to morph into a folk hero: every time he touched the ball, the fans just went nuts. And between Burns, Ben Middlebrooks and Mo Diarra, State’s big men racked up 54 points and 17 rebounds.

State just consistently out-hustled the Red Raiders and totally earned the upset. They’ll play Oakland on Friday which should be fun.

Wagner insisted they had no fear of UNC and fair enough, they didn’t. They played hard as hell.

Injuries racked that team though. They only had seven players available and not nearly enough size to counter the much bigger Tar Heels.

They did play fearlessly though and made a tremendous impression.

The Dayton comeback was also impressive, flying back with a late 24-4 run including 17 unanswered points. That’s terrific.

Long Beach State’s defeat by Arizona and Tommy Lloyd put an end to Dan Monson’s March Madness celebration following his dismissal. His former A.D.’s absurd allegation that he fired Monson in order to “motivate” his players overshadowed the game at initially.

He’s free right now, if you want him.

Gonzaga defeated McNeese State 86-65 thanks in large part to a dominant performance from freshman Dusty Stromer, who was a key substitute.

If LBSU’s A.D. overshadowed Long Beach’s game, Gonzaga’s victory was overshadowed by the big screen TVs above: they showed part of the live game from Kentucky, which infuriated Mark Few.

Additionally, Beaver Jermaine Couisnard, who played for South Carolina against Oregon, was formerly a Gamecock.

He left for forty.

When questioned, Cousinard explained that he hung 40 on some of his former Gamecock colleagues because he was a competitive man and they were talking shit.

Lamont Paris might call a meeting to discuss how and why it’s crucial to avoid providing psychological support to an opponent.

We won’t go over every game, but we can’t ignore Michigan State: the Spartans had a great showing against Mississippi State.

Recall how the Spartans struggled to make three points early in the season? Here, they hit 10-23. Tom Izzo and company might go on a deep drive if they continue to play this way.

There’s no shortage of entertainment on Friday. At 12:15, Northwestern and Chris Collins begin play against FAU in an exciting contest.

Auburn and Yale square off at 4:15, followed by New Mexico and Clemson at 3:10. Charles Barkley once declared that there was no way the “smart kids” from Yale could defeat Auburn, which is why we bring that one up. Considering his past performance, we would seriously consider betting on Yale.

At 7:25, Grambling and Purdue take the field, and at 10:05, Grand Canyon and Saint Mary’s wrap things off. I think you should watch that one. It has the potential to be excellent.

We are particularly interested in those games, but as usual, things could go wrong. Prepare your popcorn!
